Garden Designers Roundtable ~ Journey
This month on Garden Designers Roundtable we explore the concept of Journey and how it relates to gardens and gardening.
Just as a garden is a work in progress, gardener’s themselves are also evolving and changing. The road a gardener travels on the journey from newbie to green thumb is one that is very personal and unique to each gardener. No doubt your journey has been different from mine.
It’s often said that a gardener’s journey begins with color, a love of colorful flowers to be more precise. Next comes an appreciation for shrubs and deciduous trees. Frankly, for many gardeners, the journey ends here.
But I believe you’re not really a gardener until you can truly appreciate conifers. Until you fall in love with them – for their form, texture, color and their structure and endurance. Until you begin to design your garden using conifers.
